Christpher Gasson of GWI presenting the “Water Company of the Year” award to Gradiant Founders Anurag Bajpayee and Prakash Govindan
The “Water Company of the Year” distinction was awarded to Gradiant on April 16th by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) at the prestigious Global Water Awards, held in conjunction with GWI’s Global Water Summit 2024. Gradiant’s H+E was also recognized as the winner of “Water Technology Idol” for the AquaCritox super-critical water oxidation (SCWO) PFAS destruction technology.
The “Water Company of the Year” award recognizes the water company that has made the most significant contributions to the development of the international water sector. Gradiant received the Distinction award for its strategic growth and technology advancements that significantly expanded its global footprint and operational capacity. The company achieved a landmark valuation of $1 billion, becoming the first unicorn in the water industry.
In the award, GWI said “The company’s obsession with maximizing its impact has seen it apply a portfolio of technologies to optimize the lithium production process. It is also piloting a destructive oxidation technique for PFAS elimination, while the acquisition of H+E’s supercritical water oxidation technology gives it capabilities in PFAS removal. It all adds up to a uniquely different kind of water company.
The Global Water Awards also recognized Gradiant’s H+E as the winner of “Water Technology Idol” for the company whose technology could change the future of the water market. H+E’s AquaCritox SCWO technology completely destroys organic wastes into clean water through an oxidation reaction within seconds. The technology’s greatest impact is in PFAS destruction applications for industrial wastewater.
Established in 2006 by GWI, the Global Water Awards recognize the most important achievements in the international water industry within several categories, and reward those initiatives in the water, wastewater and desalination sectors that are moving the industry forward through improved operating performance, innovative technology adoption and sustainable financial models.
