Host of the Podcast (Don’t) Waste Water

Those are the key numbers to understand Gradiant – here’s whyemoji down arrow

I sat down with Prakash Govindan, Co-Founder and COO of the first and only #Unicorn in #WaterTech.

It is well known that his company reached a billion-dollar valuation last year (right?).

Some more Gradiant numbers are pretty self-explanatory:

… and, of course, the $225 Series D that made the company a unicornemoji unicorn

Yet, I believe you don’t understand Gradiant as long as you don’t grasp these two key numbers:

emoji right arrow60% of the company’s deals are… sole-sourced!

Said differently, on 60% of Gradiant’s projects, the company doesn’t face any competitionemoji mind blown

There’s an array of reasons for that, ranging from the verticals they target and the type of problem they solve all the way to the technologies they deploy and the people that make them work.

… which actually leads to the next number:

(on top of Prakash and Anurag’s shares)

When I asked Prakash to reveal his “special sauce,” he cited his team. I know it sounds cliche, but when you see that they give out so much in employee participation, there’s a strong element of “walking the talk” in that!

emoji thoughtful … wait, a podcast on a Monday? Gradiant is actually short-listed for the “Water Company of the Year” award at the upcoming Global Water Summit, and votes are open until Friday.

I’m not a big award fan, but if one can vote, why not campaign, right? I have nothing against the three other contenders – who are great contenders!

(And I’m not sponsored by anyone to express my opinion here!)

But if the play is to crown the company that rocked the #WaterSector in 2023, Gradiant sounds like an obvious choice.

My two cents.
