The Water
Layer for
applied
industrias

The diversified water platform behind the industries AI is reshaping.

Ultrapure, process, reuse, and recovery, all engineered and delivered as one accountable system for pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing.

The industries AI is
transforming all
run on water

AI is remaking pharmaceuticals, food production, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing, and every one of them scales on water. As lines run harder and discharge limits tighten, water moves from a background utility to a condition of growth. The manufacturers that solve it early expand faster, permit sooner, and run at lower lifetime cost.

One accountable partner managing the water layer

Most sites assemble their water system from a patchwork of vendors, each responsible for a single piece and none for the result. Gradiant takes the whole layer, ultrapure, process, reuse, and recovery, delivered as one integrated system that we can operate for the life of the plant.

One platform across the
industries AI is reshaping

Applied industry is not one water problem, it is many. Gradiant works across multiple markets, each with a different challenge but the same goal: reduce freshwater needs, minimize discharge, and keep production running.

Pharma & Life Sciences

Challenge. Ultrapure and WFI-grade water, with complex effluent that must be treated for reuse and safe discharge.

What Gradiant does. Pharma and biotech run on water as a raw ingredient, from potable and purified water for equipment rinsing and active-ingredient production to ultrapure, WFI-grade water for sterile products such as vaccines. Gradiant produces every grade to spec, holds it as demand and source water shift, and manages the complex wastewater that manufacturing generates. High-rate biological treatment handles biodegradable streams, advanced oxidation breaks down non-biodegradable organics, and MLD and ZLD drive discharge toward zero at the lowest total water cost. Where it pays, we recover valuable metals and minerals such as copper and struvite from the waste stream.

Alimentación y bebidas

Challenge.  High-strength organic wastewater, plus process and reuse water held to strict hygiene limits.

What Gradiant does.  Water is an ingredient in food and beverage, so quality, consistency, and hygiene are non-negotiable, and processing generates large, high-strength wastewater volumes at the same time. Gradiant delivers consistent, high-quality ingredient water and treats effluent to the standard each site needs for reuse or compliant discharge. We concentrate products to cut transport cost, recover valuable byproducts from waste streams, and push water recycling and reuse as far as site economics allow. The result is lower freshwater draw, less discharge, and a credible sustainability story for brands under rising consumer and regulatory pressure.

Chemicals &
Materials

Challenge. Difficult brines and mixed effluent, with zero liquid discharge often mandated.

What Gradiant does. Chemicals and materials producers use water at every step, for steam, cooling, process make-up, and product rinsing, and generate some of the most contaminated wastewater in industry, high in oil, grease, COD, and dissolved salts. Gradiant treats it end to end: preliminary and primary stages strip solids, biological and advanced-oxidation stages digest and destroy organics, and tertiary polishing returns water clean enough for reuse or discharge. Difficult brines are concentrated to the highest recovery, and MLD and ZLD minimize or eliminate discharge where regulation demands it. We recover salts, metals, and minerals from the concentrate, turning a disposal cost into recovered value.

Titulados
Manufacturing

Challenge. Process and ultrapure water for microelectronics-adjacent and precision industrial lines.

What Gradiant does. Advanced-manufacturing pioneers, including electric-vehicle and battery plants, aerospace and space programs, and precision industrial lines are scaling fast and colliding with the same water limits as the chip and data center layers. These sites need reliable process and ultrapure water for coating, cleaning, and finishing, and they generate mixed effluent, from metals and solvents to spent high-purity rinse water, that has to be recovered and reused. Gradiant brings the recovery-led approach proven at the leading edge of semiconductors, sized for each line, and treats and returns water across the site so output is not capped by local supply.

Built around how your site contracts, builds,
and operates

Every site has a different capital and execution structure. Gradiant adapts to each, from turnkey delivery to equipment supply to build-own-operate.

Design and build

We lead engineering, installation, commissioning, and startup.

Design and supply

We provide the engineering and technology so your team can execute.

Build-own-operate

We put the capital down, deliver the equipment, and operate the water layer to contracted performance standards day in and day out.

One end-to-end solution, solving
three challenges across the site

What applied-industry leaders know us for is driving a plant’s incoming water requirement down to a fraction of what it would otherwise be, recovering and returning water at every stage. That outcome is built from three connected capabilities.

Process & ultrapure water

Deliver the purity each line demands, from purified and WFI-grade water in pharma to ultrapure water in advanced manufacturing, and hold it as source water shifts.

Selective
Contaminant
Extraction

SCE targets specific hard-to-remove contaminants so a wider range of feedwaters can be treated to exact cooling water objectives.

FREE RADICAL OXIDATION

FRO platform includes advanced oxidation processes to effectively remove non-biodegradable organics from the most challenging wastewaters.

Wastewater
treatment and
reuse

Treat the many distinct streams a site produces, individually or combined, at high recovery, and return clean water to the plant. Emerging contaminants such as PFAS are removed and permanently destroyed with membranes, micro-foam fractionation, and electro-oxidation.

Semi-Batch
REVERSE
OSMOSIS

SBRO is a high-recovery reverse osmosis process that helps recover more water, reduce energy use, and cut brine volume while maintaining reliable performance on variable feedwater.

BIO INFINITY

Strips biodegradable organics like IPA, ammonia, and BOD from wastewater with high-rate biological treatment, holding discharge limits

Customized chemical programs help control scale, corrosion, and biofouling in cooling systems to improve heat transfer and thermal efficiency.

Resource recovery and zero liquid discharge

Concentrate what remains into reusable water and recoverable solids, so the site sends out as little as possible and meets the discharge commitments tied to permitting.

CFRO enables ultra-high water recovery and brine concentration, minimizing liquid discharge, reducing waste volumes, and lowering disposal costs for data center operations.

Carrier Gas Extraction uses thermal evaporation to concentrate brine, recover water, and minimize liquid discharge and waste in data center operations.

Monitors, predicts, and optimizes water systems in real time, improving reliability, reducing downtime, and lowering operating costs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is water critical to power in the AI economy?

AI is reshaping pharmaceuticals, food production, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing, and each depends on large volumes of treated water to run reliably. Water affects site selection, permitting, discharge compliance, and long-term operating cost, and increasingly gates how fast a plant can expand.

Gradiant manages the full site water system as one integrated layer, from process and ultrapure water to wastewater reuse, resource recovery, and zero liquid discharge, so a plant can work with one accountable partner responsible for system-level performance.

Gradiant designs systems to recover, treat, and reuse water across the site, engineered for above 90 percent system-level reuse, lowering water risk, improving resilience, and reducing lifecycle cost.

Yes. Applied-industry sites produce many wastewater streams with distinct chemistries. Gradiant treats them individually or combined, recovers water for reuse, and addresses difficult contaminants such as PFAS, with zero liquid discharge where required.

Gradiant can design and build, design and supply, or build, own, and operate, and can run the water layer for the life of the plant through O&M with SmartOps and CURE Chemicals.
